"Film confers a kind of spurious eternity." Jim Morrison from The Lords and New Creatures

What were the sixties about?

The Transmogrifer's Take: Something very strange evolved out of the Lookout Mountain, top secret film lab and drifted into the Laurel Canyon community where an incredible group of people were sucked into a psychic vortex of a CIA program of human experimentation with LSD and other psychotropic drugs. Farther north, the same thing happened in San Francisco, a center for MKULTRA experimentation like Lookout Mountain. The psychedelic culture was born of military testing to counter the effect of Manchurian Candidates in "communist" countries.

"Urge to come to terms with the 'Outside,' by absorbing, interiorizing it. I won't come out, you must come into me. Into my womb-garden where I peer out. Where I can construct a universe within the skull to rival the real." Jim Morrison from The Lords and New Creatures

"The boundary line between self and the external world bears no relation to reality; the distinction between ego and world is made by spitting out part of the inside, and swallowing in part of the outside." Norman O. Brown, Love's Body
